GMK Associates is looking to grow its construction team immediately by adding an experienced construction superintendent based in the firm’s Columbia, SC, office. The candidate must have demonstrable experience in successful construction coordination for a variety of projects of varying complexity. The position will report to a design-build construction project manager, and will be responsible for coordination of site construction activities and supervision of field personnel as required to successfully complete projects on time and within budget. Duties include maintaining the highest service quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, and administering good construction safety practices for on-site activities. The position further maintains the overall job site and closes out individual construction projects.

 

The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional project management skills and will have the ability to oversee construction activities, specialty trades, and personnel. The candidate should hold a high school diploma or GED and possess a minimum of eight years experience as a construction superintendent. Experience in building up-fits and renovations and/or healthcare-related projects is preferred. Other required skills and experience include:  effective organizational, written/oral communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
