This 2,300-seat concert hall on an urban hillside serves as a showcase for many activities. It is designed as a “variable volume” auditorium, allowing the acoustics to be adjusted for various events, providing good seating for 1,000-, 2,000- and 2,300-seat configurations. A large glass lobby allows the passer-by the opportunity to see the audience during opening and intermission times on several levels overlooking the main lobby. The Koger Center has multiple dressing rooms and two rehearsal halls, a large orchestra-sized hall and a more intimate rehearsal area. The facility is used by both the University of South Carolina and the greater Columbia community and is hailed as one of the foremost performance centers in South Carolina.
