Project Architect

Mrs. Day is a registered architect in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia with 14 years of experience (all with GMK) in developing schematic and final designs for a variety of healthcare, education, commercial, and government projects through the firm’s architecture and design-build divisions. As a project architect, Mrs. Day works closely with clients and other technical disciplines to ensure project needs are met and in compliance with all applicable local and national codes. These projects have primarily included commercial/government facilities, as well as upfits, renovations, and new construction of healthcare facilities ranging from medical office buildings (MOBs) to surgery centers to hospitals. She has further worked on historic renovations, (such as the Williamsburg County Courthouse) and is well versed in the use of sustainable design principles for all of her projects. Mrs. Day also possesses extensive capabilities in computer rendering and BIM modeling that augment her abilities in architectural design. Mrs. Day holds a bachelor of fine arts degree and a master of architecture degree from the Savannah College of Art & Design, is a member of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA), and has earned certification through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). She is further a LEED® Accredited Professional with a specialty in Building Design + Construction through the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
