Jerome Simons

AIA, LEED AP

Senior Architect

Mr. Simons is a senior architect with more than 23 years of progressive design experience for institutional, higher education, and healthcare projects. Mr. Simons plays an integral role in schematic design development, programming, and planning for multiple clients across diverse markets and industries. He works closely with each client through the design and construction process to ensure needs and expectations are met through creative yet pragmatic solutions. Specific examples of projects that Mr. Simons has supported include a university convocation center, basketball arenas, training rooms, and other athletic spaces, as well as commercial and educational building renovations, office upfits, and classroom upgrades. He is well versed in the completion of a variety of comprehensive project feasibility studies and possesses significant expertise in historic renovation. For example, Mr. Simons recently served as the architect for the award-winning historic renovation of the Chappelle Auditorium at Allen University, and is currently completing another historic renovation of Building B10 on the campus of the W.J.B. Dorn VA Medical Center. He also has gained experience designing for the healthcare industry with recent projects that include the upfit of the KershawHealth Geriatric Psychiatric Unit, as well as government agency experience as the lead architect for the Richland County Coroner’s Office upfit. Mr. Simons is a registered architect in South Carolina, is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and is a LEED® Accredited Professional through the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Architecture from North Carolina State University.
