Jeff Bernagozzi
PE, LEED AP 
Board Member / Director of Engineering Division

As GMK’s director of engineering, Mr. Bernagozzi oversees all mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection system design work, as well as energy system audits, evaluations, and assessments. He has broad capabilities in HVAC design, building energy modeling, return-on-investment calculations, and the design of complicated central energy plants for campus environments. Mr. Bernagozzi brings 24 years of experience in institutional design to the team. He evaluates facility HVAC and plumbing systems in order to ensure that new equipment specified is the most energy-efficient solution possible for the application. He further performs field inspections of each new HVAC and plumbing installation. Currently, Mr. Bernagozzi manages GMK’s mechanical engineering indefinite delivery contracts for government/state clients, including the SC Department of Administration/Division of General Services (formerly SCB&CB), SC Department of Mental Health, University of South Carolina, Midlands Technical College, and SC State University. Among other major mechanical system design projects, Mr. Bernagozzi previously led the engineering design on South Carolina’s first LEED-Certified inpatient healthcare facility (Clarendon Health System, completed and certified in August 2012). Mr. Bernagozzi is a registered professional engineer (SC, NC, GA, and FL), a LEED® Accredited Professional, and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, and American Society for Healthcare Engineering. He holds a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of South Carolina.
