In November of 2012, GMK Associates was retained by a private physicians group to provide comprehensive design-build services for the construction of the Summerville Endoscopy Center as part of the network of offices operated by Charleston Gastroenterology Specialists of Charleston, SC. GMK’s services ranged from initial site selection assistance and due diligence, through advisement during the financing process (project budget analysis, financial feasibility, etc.) and CON Application assistance, to facility planning, design, and construction, including interior design services and FF&E procurement.
 
The approximately 8,985-square-foot, patient-centered GI Center is located on a 1.12-acre site on Midland Parkway in Summerville, SC. The purpose of the project was to create a two-physician practice, as well as an office-based center with two procedure rooms for gastroenterological procedures. The completed space also includes all associated support areas, eight prep and recovery stations, six exam rooms, associated offices and a reception area, waiting areas, restrooms, and storage.
