Mr. Umar possesses six years of experience in the electrical design field, with a primary background as an operations and maintenance design analyst for the oil and gas industry. He has demonstrated skills in developing project scopes, scheduling, and budgeting for various electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, and HVAC systems in accordance with ASME, environmental, and other industry standards, as well as proven expertise functioning as an effective liaison between clients and contractors. Mr. Umar recently joined GMK following his role as a maintenance engineering consultant for an offshore facility in the Gulf of Mexico where he developed SAP Functional Location and Equipment Register Hierarchy for mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment. He further was responsible for developing engineering standards, specifications, best practices, and training procedures for operations, maintenance, and repair of facility equipment. Mr. Umar is recognized as an Engineer in Training (EIT) through the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and holds a bachelor of science in electrical and power engineering from the University of Houston where he majored in electrical engineering with a minor in power transmission and political science.
