Along with client Loris Healthcare System, GMK is pleased to celebrate the opening of Seacoast Medical Center as a fully operational hospital in North Myrtle Beach, SC. In direct response to increasing demand and population along the S.C. coast, this 50-bed inpatient nursing facility addition connects to the existing surgery center designed and built in 1999 by GMK for this eventuality. GMK’s energy-efficiency planning team seeing quantifiable results
GMK Engineering recently provided its 10th no-cost energy assessment for clients through the SC Energy Office’s Energy Technical Assistance Program. “These assessments have really shown our clients how they can save money through energy efficiency,” said Jeff Bernagozzi, GMK director of mechanical engineering. According to USC Aiken client Mike Jara, assistance chancellor of facilities, year to date GMK’s energy-efficiency planning and renovation for the campuses natatorium has saved 49 percent in energy costs. More

GMK Interiors Speaks at National Senior Living Conference
Barbara Summerford, president, and Christie Richardson, director of design, for GMK Interiors served as education session presenters at the annual, national LeadingAge conference in Washington DC recently. In collaboration with specialists from Love & Co., a marketing firm focused on the senior living industry, the team shared with several hundred attendees how to update residential units to encourage sales. Other recent, state-level speaking engagements for the GMK Interiors team include: LeadingAge NC: “Jaded CCRCS – Designing to Reposition an Asset” and LeadingAge Ohio: “10 Tips to Maximize the Experience of a Prospect and Encourage Sales."
